Nebraska's nitrate problem is growing worse, likely harming our kids

Gary Peters, left, and his wife Shari, sit in the living room of their home in Aurora, Nebraska, on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, while Shari holds a photo of their son Jacob, who died of non Hodgkin's lymphoma on Nov. 16, 2011, at the age of 17. Gary and Shari have concerns about nitrates in Nebraska’s drinking water and their possible link to pediatric cancers. Gary said it wasn’t enough to avoid drinking contaminated water, but bathing and cooking with it should be disconcerting too.
